20# of fabric. . .

With the recent Spring Sale, I think I just broke my personal record for largest fabric.com order! Usually I try to show some restraint, but I couldn’t resist the coordinates offered this time. Here’s a peek at what I bought:

This was the most thrilling part of my buy, and will be the basis for a mix & match wardrobe for R next winter (or a SWAP~Sewing With a Purpose~as it’s called among my sewing friends). The mint corduroy and cranberry striped twill will be used for 3-4 skirts/jumpers/pants while the striped jersey & hearts interlock will be  shirts. I probably will add a light pink and maybe white knits from stash for additional shirt options.

This will be the first to be sewn. The orange actually arrived in my last fabric.com box, but these linens will be Easter shirts for the big boys this year using the Ottobre pattern show in the picture (orange for C, lime for J). It’s the same style as N & I’s Easter shirts,  just bigger. ;)

This stack is for me! The olive & khaki are brushed stretch twill; the chocolate is stretch chino. Eventually they will all be sewn into pants (cropped or regular) or possibly a jumper.

These soft coordinates (twill & knit) are begging to be baby clothes. Whichever color #6 doesn’t wear might be baby gifts or. . .I’m sure I’ll think of something!

These odds & ends just snuck into my cart. ;) Left to right: The daisy jersey will probably be a short sleeve top for me; it looks great next to the chocolate chino. The textured pink polka dots want to be a sundress for R, but they also coordinate with the SWAP fabrics so we’ll see. The pink/turquoise/lime stripe will be a Hanna-type knit dress for R next winter.  The next stripe will probably be a little boy shirt or two; I think it’s asking for a monkey applique, don’t you? I don’t have any plans for the fuschia jersey yet; I thought it would work into the SWAP but in real life it’s got too much blue.
