Bringing up 5 rowdy boys & 1 twirly girl!

Happy birthday to my little math whiz!

Wendy & the lost boys are getting ready to move next month! Never mind that we’ve never lived (and seldom traveled) outside the Midwestern states, after Thanksgiving we will be headed to Wyoming.
As with any move there will be a lot of changes for all of us. Mostly we will miss our friends and church family here; we’ll also miss being within a day’s drive of most of our extended family. However, this move also means that Larry will once again be working full time at his vocation of pastor. While I’m sure he looks forward to using his training & experience, the rest of us are looking forward to the fact that his working a single job means we can enjoy more family time than we have for a couple of years!
I’m sure some of my fellow pastors’ wives are giggling at that last thought. No, I haven’t forgotten how crazy (and long) the days of a parish pastor can be. But that sounds like a vacation compared to punching a clock 40+ hours a week plus running an early morning paper route plus being pastor on the weekend OR being out of town 4 or 5 days a week plus being pastor on the weekend OR driving a Schwans truck (14-16 hour days) plus being pastor. . .well, you get the idea!
Mmmmm. . .yummy!

I can’t believe he’s 4 weeks old already. . .

Not that C is inclined to make a habit of helping in this way, mind you. . .
It’s time to put on my thinking cap; Glenda tagged me this week.
The rules this time are as follows:
1. Link the person who has tagged you.
2. Tell seven true things about yourself.
3. Tag seven new people.
4. Leave a message with the person you have tagged so they know about it.
And now the really hard part. . .thinking of 7 people who haven’t already been tagged! I was going to tag Gina, but it took me so long to come up with my list that she tagged me first.
So instead I think I better put my energy into washing dishes, because some little monkey boy broke the door of my dishwasher meaning it leaks water on the floor if I try to run it.

This weekend we celebrated the rebirth of our newest son through the water of baptism. We are honored that our friends Mark, Katherine, Brenda, & Larry are willing to be his godparents.

This year C is trying his hand (or would it be foot?) at playing soccer. . .the fall season is almost over, and yesterday he played against his friend’s team. His team (green) had their first win of the season. But it looks like they are still friends after the game.

If only I could figure out how to bottle the smell of clean new baby. . .
While catching up on the week’s happenings at the Hen House, I realized I’d forgotten to share pictures from the kids’ dance classes last week.
On Tuesdays, C & R are in the same ballet/tap class. C is probably a little bored with what they’re learning so far, since most of the girls are R’s age; I keep telling him if he were in a class of girls his own age they would all tower over him!
Anyhow they are working on a ballet dance for this year’s Festival of Trees to Mannheim Steamroller’s rendition of Kling Glocken.
My pictures were all a bit blurry, maybe because I was holding baby D and maybe because I never had a straight shot with the camera. But here are my dancers, tapping side by side:

R is taking baton again on Thursday afternoons. They are also working on a routine for the Festival. Here is a (blurry!) picture of Ms. Sarah talking R through a double arm roll:
